Speaker Bio
Since 2021, Carlos Mira has been co-founder and CEO of HALO Space, with a mission to establish a sustainable presence in Near Space for crewed flights (a pioneer in the new category of ‘near space tourism’), Earth observation, and security and defence.
Before leading HALO Space, Carlos was a partner and chairman of Arthur D. Little Spain, from where HALO was incubated. He has an extensive career spanning more than 30 years in major multinational telecommunications and defence companies, such as Alcatel-Lucent, Lucent Technologies and Thales, where he has held positions at global, regional (EMEA, LATAM) and country (Spain) levels.
He has co-founded technology start-ups in the UK and India and served on the boards of listed and unlisted companies. He is currently chairman of the CRE100DOO Foundation for the development of the Spanish middle market (conceived by him in 2014 with Bankinter, ICEX and the Círculo de Empresarios) and a trustee of Acción Contra el Hunger and the Bankinter Innovation Foundation.
